Don't Grow Weary in Well Doing

We, as Christians, should not grow weary in well doing.   When we do something good, such as praying for someone's salvation, or witnessing, or laying out tracks, the flesh/world/devil (unholy trinity), will try to prevent us from doing it.   These three will try to pressure you against doing good, especially your flesh.   It does not want to do anything that would cause it discomfort.   When no one responds to your witnessing efforts, or people send you hate mail, or they throw away your tracts, the flesh/world/devil will try to discourage you so that you won't keep doing it.   Don't listen to them.   If you are living the Abundant Life, this should not be a problem for you.   If you are trying to do good through the flesh, the temptation to give up will be all the more greater.   You need to your service to God and others in the Spirit, not in the flesh.

But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
2 Thess 3:13

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Gal 6:9

To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, [God will give] eternal life:
Rom 2:7

We should endeavor to continue to pray for the lost and the backslidden, especially those we know.   Do not cease praying for them.

Luke 18
1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

We should patiently endure persecution:

Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
Rom 12:12

16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
2 Cor 4:16,17

Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
James 5:11

So whatever God has you doing for Him, do NOT allow your flesh, the world, and the devil to wear you down and discourage you.   Rely on the Lord, don't give up, and He shall refresh you.   "For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day" (2 Cor 4:16) .
