Therefore, it is an IDOL. Why did Catholic Gibson name his production company "Icon (idol) Productions." As we will see, Mr. Gibson is a believer in Mary and relics (another form of idol). The Icon Production logo (see below) makes it clear what "icon" means to them. They are referring to the "sacred" images (idols) of the Catholic Church.
